Registrations Closed

Posted by audiomatch at 11:54 PM on February 9, 2004.

Because some people seem a bit incapable on understanding exactly what "Registrations Closed" means, I guess I have to announce it:

"Registrations are closed."

To all of you who offer hosting for Audiomatch, thank you for your offers. But most likely you will not be helping us in any way; bandwidth is not the issue with Audiomatch; it's raw CPU.

If you'd like to donate a server, this is what we need:

1.) A dedicated box running at least 1.7Ghz Celeron; Audiomatch receives about 100 apache requests per second; any other site will suffer greatly if it's on the same box. We also need PHP 4.3.x and/or mySQL.
2.) Some linux dist (RedHat, OpenBSD, doesn't *really* matter)
3.) Fast network (we need the box to be in a colo and not in a dorm room somewhere)
4.) Root access to the box

If you can donate, we'd be gracious. Thanks once again.

Audiomatch 2.0

Posted by audiomatch at 03:18 PM on February 26, 2004.

So we finally decided to be unlazy and start doing work on this site. We've decided that with all the support we've gotten from you guys, we have to fulfill our end of the social contract and make the site better.

I've written a quick Microsoft document (ugh, sorry, too lazy to to port to HTML right now) that outlines our plans.

Give it a read and then fire off an email!
